Colette & Steve, Nomad Hotel 22/12/24

Happy New Year everyone! I know my last post was March 2023….I was about to give up the “journal” section, but my new year’s resolution is to write at least one blog post a month even if it’s a short one. Wish me luck!

Today I want to share some behind the scenes for the final wedding of 2024. The ceremony took place at the gorgeous Fitzrovia Chapel, followed by the reception at Nomad Hotel. Both of them were my dream venues!

Colette wanted all white, simple ( yet full) and modern florals including roses, gyp, hydrangeas and a touch of black.

We used over 650roses which all needed to be “reflexed”, which means peeling back each petals one by one by hand very carefully.

Some of the flowers have arrived

Reflexed roses

To be able to reflex them, they needed to be quite open, so I ordered them a bit earlier than I usually do. Luckily all of the flowers came in perfect shade and amazing quality( which is not always the case!) thanks to my suppliers at New Covent Garden Flower Market. As it was quite a large quantity of flowers we needed to process, I hired some studio space at the market to make it easier. Having the big space was a game changer.

My temporary studio!

My team and I worked super hard on this wedding and we are proud how it all turned out.

The chapel flowers were repurposed onto the stage and we bunched up some flowers at 2am to be taken home. We hate wasting flowers!

What I learned from this wedding was that as long as you prepare as much as you can and you surround yourself with good people, you can achieve so much.

My dream team!

I can’t thank enough for everyone who contributed to this wedding. It was definitely one of my highlight of the year.
